Unhealthy Dose of Self-pity

It's been some time since I last drew something that was supposed to be more than a doodle. I think I've been terribly lacking practice and if I don't do something about it soon, I might never be able to improve my very poor drawing skills. People give me lots of praises and I'd love to bathe in them, really. But, because I'm just too paranoid, more often than not, I think they're just telling me that I'm good 'cause they don't have the guts to tell to my face that I suck. I know that I'm not the best in the world and that I shouldn't think so but I think this is already an unhealthy dose of self-pity. Maybe I need eisenkleid's "Confidence-Generating Egg"... or else I'll be swell into an itchy red pig[let] for eating too much chocolate. Chocolate is my only solace.

Aside from LJ ranting, of course. X3

Wanting to Cry Yet Finding No Tears to Shed

Life inside "Bahay ni Kuya Charles" (Sisters of Charity of St. Charles Borromeo Retreat House) is something that I think I can call perfect. There were no worries, no homeworks, no exams... Who would've thought that, in a time when almost everyone depends on electronic gadgets, living without computers and cellphones is still possible? And back there, they feed you often and let you rest a lot. There was nothing to stop you from running around and feeling the fresh air against your face. Time is precious- because there are no clocks or watches.

And so I was quite sad to leave yesterday afternoon. I guess I enjoyed living in the retreat house too much that I forgot about the responsibilities I have outside.

Because we're all hypocrites in a way

Though some people may consider me as the talkative type of person, I do pay attention if need be. I do not have a voice louder than my teachers. I do not shout at my teachers and talk to them like they're just my age. And I do not tell people to shut up when I'm doing the same thing as they are (which is, of course, talking).

Unlike some people who said we (my friends and I) were too noisy. As if they weren't.

Well I did not get the highest score in the written exam. Happy now?

I must admit that I am sometimes, if not alway, insensitive to what other people feel and that I, too, have my share of hypocrisy. I know that, yes, I do not have a valid excuse for being such a hypocrite....

But I guess we're all just like that sometimes.

Papers

I got a text message this afternoon. It said:

"It takes 15 trees to produce the amount of paper which is used by us to write our exams..

...Join us in promoting the noble cause of saving trees... say,

NO TO EXAMS!!"

And tomorrow is the first day of our exam week.

Buildings and Carpenters

There is this feeling of being useless. And more often than not, I feel that way. It is a feeling I usually have when I work with people who doesn't "travel the same road" as I am (unless they're the kind that depend on me too much they make me do all the work). I thought that if I was with birds of the same feather, I will feel less useless.

I was wrong. I think.

Recently, we had this video-making project. Ours turned out great, in my opinion. And I guess I owe it a lot to my groupmates who stripped themselves of their pride and acted. But then I realized that I never once appeared in any of the scenes (well, except maybe the behind-the-scenes part).

Of course, one of the few reasons was because I was holding the camera in some of the scenes. But for the rest of the video, I was just standing in a corner, watching my groupmates make a fool out of themselves.

And so I told my friend about what I felt. She told me this:

"When you see a beautiful building, you cannot tell who the carpenters are. But the building can never be there without them."

The video was shown to a few other sections in our year level. Later on, I found out that one of the students who saw the video told my groupmates:

"AM was good."

I didn't feel so useless anymore.
